Why Small Groups Change How You Experience Nature
We cap every outing at ten people. Here's what that actually changes on the trail.
By Aristotelis Papadopoulos
A group of thirty moves differently than a group of eight — louder, slower to stop, harder for a guide to keep everyone in earshot. Capping our outings keeps the group quiet enough to actually see wildlife, flexible enough to take a detour when something interesting turns up, and small enough that questions get real answers instead of a rehearsed script. It costs us some efficiency. We think it's worth it.
